Xu received the 2024 BPV XII Transport Tank Engineering Award

Kang Xu received the 2024 ASME BPV XII Transport Tank Engineering Award during the Society’s BPV Code week.
Last month, Kang Xu received ASME’s 2024 BPV XII Transport Tank Engineering Award during this year’s ASME BPV Code week in Orlando, Fla. Xu, a pressure vessel consultant and engineering fellow at Linde, Inc., has been working in the industrial gas industry for more than 20 years in the areas of pressure vessels, structural integrity assessment, and materials behavior in high pressure hydrogen. He was presented the award by Nick Paulick, chairman of the BPV XII Transport Tank Committee.

ASME BPV XII Transport Tank Engineering Award
ASME BPV XII Transport Tank Engineering Award was established in 2015. It is awarded for distinguished contributions in the field of pressure vessel engineering that can include leadership, technical, research and development, and publication efforts that have had a significant impact on the content, development, promulgation, and expansion of the ASME BPV Section XII Pressure Vessel Code.

Kang Xu
Xu is an ASME fellow and has earned a Ph.D. in materials engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. He is a member of subgroup on design and materials of BPV XII for the last 12 years. Besides BPV XII committee activity he is very active in BPV VIII and B31.12 hydrogen piping committees. He has worked on many projects to advance the BPV XII, BPV VIII and B31.12 piping code rules. He has published over 40 technical papers.
